The LATIDO project is in advanced stages of resource definition within the AVILA fiscal reserve, in the west region of the Dominican Republic. The AVILA reserve was declared by decree # 430-18 and is outside of the Jaragua National Park.
Detailed geological work is being advanced in this brownfield area, that was mined by ALCOA for many years.
Bench scale metallurgical work has been advanced with excellent results.
Early stage conversations with governmental authorities are advancing, as the resource is theirs and a special contract, probably includin a tender process will be required.
The project will produce HPA (High Purity Alumina) and a Rare Earth Elements concentrate in a very environmentally friedly way and creating job opportunities badly needed in the region.
In this way rejected ore, accumulated through the years, and not economic to be processed using the traditional route, will be added a lot of value leaving behind hardly any residues.
The project will be using desalinated water and solar generated steam and electricity.
Zoita and La Cacata are two separate but adjacent metallic minerals exploration concessions in which detailed geological work is advancing.
At this stage three separate exploration drives have yielded hundreds of sediment and rocks samples which have returned some interesting results after analysis.
The fourth drive is now in advanced planning, on the basis of the attained results, which show a clear trend in the field.
We are currently in advanced conversations with two separate intersted parties who have shown interest in jointly taking the Project to drilling stage. We expect to be drilling within the next 12 months.
The CATAMARAN exploration mining concession has been partially drilled and it has been confirmed that it has high quality consolidated limestone ideal for coral stone works.
The rock formation is within a 1,518,000 square meters of land property of MINTECH SRL.
Physical tests performed on the rock confirm its hardness and other characteristics that will make it also very good for use on road and construction aggregates.
Further drilling is planned for the rest of 2020 and we are expecting that operations will start before the end of 2021.
LThe Bayahibe tourist region has been tapped for development in the recent past and, due to the closeness of our project we are hoping to be the main rock supplier for the multiple project being planned.
